Lanete leads Philippines’ rout of Indonesia

MANILA, Philippines—Smart Gilas Pilipinas whipped Indonesia, 110-78, to open up its campaign in the 19th Super Keung Sheung Cup on a winning note Tuesday at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium in Wanchai, Hong Kong.

Former San Beda standout Garvo Lanete led the Nationals charge with a game-high 21 points while Niño Canaleta added 17 points.

Gary David and Kevin Alas finished with 14 and 11 points, respectively.

Philippines faces Hong Kong in its next game Wednesday.
