Tough Gear karters strike in Cebu

MANILA, Philippines - Rookie Stefano Rivera and Paco Rodriguez powered PCR-Tough Gear Racing to six wins in the Cebu leg of the 2009 Magnolia Super Karting Series at the Kart Zone recently.

Rivera bested local talents Tonyo Carcel and Jette Calderon to clinch the Formula SL Novice crown, the first of PCR-Tough Gear?s six triumphs.

Rivera wrapped up the 28-lap race in 12 minutes and 55.811 seconds, 4.023 seconds ahead of Carcel, fortifying his hold on third place overall in the title race.

Rodriguez then topped both the Formula SL Heavy and the Formula SL expert divisions.

Rodriguez and teammate VJ Suba placed 1-2 in the formula SL Expert class and then bested fellow Cebuano Patrick Gandionco and Mike Fox in the formula SL Heavy division.

PCR?s other three victories were delivered by Archim Lagman, Vrei-AR Suba and lone female recruit Aira Medrano. Lagman bagged the win in the MBA division, Suba in the ROK Novice class and Medrano in the Baby ROK division.
