JOHNLERY ENRIQUEZ stunned big guns Masato Fernando and Maico Buncio in the premiere 150cc Open class of the recent fifth and penultimate leg of the 2009 Magnolia Health Tea Philippine Underbone King Championships at the Carmona Circuit Philippines.

Enriquez, who bagged his first career title two years ago, wrapped up the 12-lap race in 9 minutes and 45.657 seconds, 4.380 seconds clear of Fernando.

Buncio came in third, 14.786 seconds off Enriquez, who moved up to third in the overall standings with 198 points.

Fernando leads the series with 221.

Buncio, who slipped to second with 216, struck hardest on the day, though, with victories in the 115cc Open, 130cc Open and 115cc Sports Production.

He clocked 10:22.344 to beat Anthony Roman by a mere 0.822 of a second and keep the overall lead with 175 points in the 130cc Open series.

Buncio fashioned out his biggest victory with a less-powerful 115cc engine after his modified 130cc motorbike failed in the prefinal race.

Buncio got back at the frontrunning Enriquez in both the 115cc Open and the 115cc Sports Production classes.

Clinching the other titles were Ivan Santiago in the 180cc Automatic Scooter 4-Stroke class and Paolo Labador in the 115cc Super Stock race. George Lizares
