SEA Games qualifying tees off

SILANG, CAVITE?Reigning national champion Mark Fernando heads an elite 10-man field seeking four Philippine team berths starting Tuesday for the 24th Southeast Asian Games in Laos.

National team regulars Jonel Ababa, Tonlits Asistio and Rufino Bayron as well as junior ace Miguel Tabuena and United States-based Judson Eustaquio are the other top contenders in the 72-hole qualifying set at Riviera?s Langer course.

Peter Villaber, former HK Am winner Dante Becierra, Dino Villanueva and Canlubang?s Alvin Engino complete the exclusive list of hopefuls for the top four slots for the SEA Games squad.

Fernando will be returning to the course where he humbled the pros to win the ICTSI Riviera Classic last month.
