MANILA, Philippines ? Defending champion San Sebastian tries to keep its slate clean against resurgent Far Eastern U in the second conference of the Shakey?s V-League Season 6 at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

The odds are pretty much even in the 4 p.m. showdown where the Lady Stags are looking to secure their third win.

Lyceum and St. Benilde collide at 2 p.m. in a duel of winless squads.

Despite being far from their ideal form, the Stags, who ruled the NCAA tournament last week, racked up back-to-back victories over University of the Philippines and St. Benilde.

?We still need to improve our attacking game,? said San Sebastian coach Roger Gorayeb. ?I?m hoping that the adjustments we did after our first game comes out today.?

Running second behind unbeaten University of Santo Tomas, the Lady Tamaraws are gunning for their fourth victory in five games.

They are coming off a 25-20, 23-25, 25-21, 25-19 triumph over Ateneo-Oracare last Friday, the same day the Lady Stags reasserted their mastery over the Lady Blazers, 25-21, 25-19, 25-14.

Elaine Cruz, Margarita Pepito, Joy Benito and Melissa Mirasol will be the focal points of the San Sebastian attack, while Far Eastern will counter with Rachel Daquis, Shaira Gonzalez, Cherry Vivas and skipper Rose Cabanag.

With Benito well-covered, Cruz stepped up in the game against St. Benilde, finishing with 17 hits. Pepito, who also anchors the Lady Stags? formidable floor defense, also sparkled on the attack with 12 points.

The Lady Blazers and Lady Pirates are hoping to remain in the hunt for the six quarterfinal berths after losing their first two games.

St. Benilde will pin its hopes on Giza Yumang, Ren Agero and Katty Kwan, while Nica Guliman and Joy Cases will carry the fight for Lyceum.
