TOP SEED ANNA CHRISTINE Patrimonio and second seed Bambi Zoleta swept to the women?s singles quarterfinals along with three-time champion Czarina Mae Arevalo in the Philippine Columbian Association (PCA) Open tennis championships at the PCA indoor shell courts.

The 17-year-old daughter of former PBA superstar Alvin Patrimonio hardly broke a sweat in routing Jonicka Guba, 6-2, 6-2, while Zoleta downed Jasmine Tan-Ho, 6-4, 6-0.

Arevalo, now 24, showed top form in her bid to reclaim the title she last held in 2007 by routing Samantha Coyiuto.

In the men?s singles, Davis Cupper PJ Tierro and Elbert Anasta sailed to the quarterfinals by trouncing their respective opponents later in the afternoon.

Tierro, last year?s runner-up and second seed, outclassed Joel Palao, 6-0, 6-1, while Anasta struggled before overcoming McLean Barraquias, 7-5, 6-3.

Tierro will next meet fifth-seeded Ralph Kevin Barte, who downed Michael Mantua, 6-1, 6-4.

Zoleta, the 17-year-old from Lucena City, advanced against Patrimonio?s younger sister Anna Clarice, who drubbed Lenz Santos, 6-0, 6-3.

The older Patrimonio?s next rival will be De La Salle?s Regina Santiago, who demolished age-group champ Shanine Olivarez, 6-3, 6-0.

Michelle Pang eliminated Marinel Rudas, 6-3, 6-2, and booked a duel against Jessica Agra, who disposed of Crizabelle Paulino, 6-1, 6-0.
