Django Bustamante wins duel vs Deuel

Philippine Daily Inquirer

FRANCISCO "Django" Bustamante outduelled American Corey Deuel, 15-8, in the 2nd International Pool Tour (IPT) 8-ball challenge on Thursday in Chicago.

Bustamante clinched the win with a 4-ball and 8-ball combination after Deuel had missed in the 23rd rack. He won $5,000 to raise his total money earnings to $37,750 and retain the top spot for January.

Deuel took the first rack but a missed carom shot allowed Bustamante to control the next game. The Filipino erected an 8-1 lead until Deuel closed the gap, 11-7.

A missed combination in the 19th rack by Deuel allowed Bustamante to win the next three games to reach the hill, 14-7.
