NEW ORLEANS -- Stephen Jackson scored 26 points and Baron Davis added 23 and nine assists Wednesday to spark Golden State past New Orleans 116-103, snapping the Hornets' nine-game win streak.

Matt Barnes contributed 17 points and Monta Ellis added 16 points, nine rebounds and seven assists for the Warriors as they spanked the top team in the Western Conference of the National Basketball Association.

"I just didn't think our energy was that great," Hornets coach Byron Scott said. "We hadn't played that way in a long time and we just didn't come out with the usual level of intensity and energy we normally have."

Golden State made 52 percent from the field, hitting 45-of-86 shots, but the Hornets remained within 92-88 on two David West free throws 30 seconds into the fourth quarter.

The Warriors responded with a 13-4 run capped by a 19-footer from Jackson. Jannero Pargo answered for New Orleans but Golden State scored the next nine points, including a Davis 3-pointer, to secure the triumph.

"That was a really good executed basketball game," Golden State coach Don Nelson said. "This is the way pros should play. We were a little bit better."

"We kept getting better. Offensively we were very good. We made threes and taking the advantage that we have in the post."

New Orleans was led by Chris Paul with 28 points and 12 assists while Tyson Chandler added 11 points and 14 rebounds.

"We had a great month and this is one loss," Chandler said. "We have to bounce back and start another winning streak."

Even with the loss, the Hornets matched a club record with 12 triumphs in January.

"I guess it's an accomplishment," West said. "We felt like we wanted to finish it up at home the right way, and we didn't. We will take 12 wins in a month. We just have to go back on the road and try to get back on track."
