Lady Stags pace NCAA beach volley

MANILA, Philippines -- San Sebastian College stayed in control in the NCAA women’s beach volleyball competition as the Lady Stags emerged as the only unbeaten team during the weekend action at the La Salle Green Hills sand courts.

The SSC pair of Lou Ann Latigay and Margarita Pepito outclassed the Letran College tandem of Rossan Fajardo at Kriselle Moralejo, 21-11, 23-21, to claim the solo lead with a 4-0 win-loss record.

College of St. Benilde cruised to its third straight victory as the duo of Girly Quemada and Hazel Cay dealt University of Perpetual Help’s Jeen-Arc Baguio and Kesia de Luna their first loss, 21-9, 21-10, for a share of second place at 3-1.

San Beda College’s Joy Palacio and Kristine Vinzon scored their first win in four games by edging Mapua Institute of Technology’s Maica Punsalang and Miriam Sorreda, 21-10, 21-19.

Perpetual and CSB-LSGH surged to their third straight wins in junior play. The Altalettes beat the Staglets, 21-9, 21-15, while the Junior Blazers thwarted the Red Cubs, 21-15, 21-14.
