MANILA, Philippines--Manny Pacquiao on Friday passed with flying colors the World Boxing Council-mandated 30-day weigh-in and medical test required for his March 15 showdown with WBC super featherweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez.
The WBC requires that fighters in the 130-pound super featherweight class should not weigh more than 140 lb. a month before their scheduled fight.
Pacquiao took the tests at the clinic of Dr. Gluckman in San Pedro, California, according to Philboxing.com's Los Angeles correspondent Ed de la Vega.
Pacquiao was accompanied by his younger brother Bobby, who is seeing action two days before his showdown with Marquez.
Also with the group were Pacquiao's Filipino trainer Boboy Fernandez, boxer Ernel Fontanilla and PR man Winchell Campos, said De la Vega.
Pacquiao is slated to resume sparring Saturday against his Latino sparmates.
The Wild Card Gym in Hollywood, where the Filipino ring hero trains, is off-limits to non-essential personnel, particularly kibitzers and boxing fans.
