MANILA, Philippines -- WBC lightweight champion David Diaz was bleeding from multiple cuts around his brow and nose after the fourth round of his bout with Philippine boxing icon Manny Pacquiao.

Pacquiao?s right hand worked wonders, bloodying Diaz even more as a cut opened over the champion?s left eyes. At one point, referee Vic Drakulich had physicians check the wounds.

Pacquiao unleashed punches from both hands and it was the right that staggered Diaz.
Although the Mexican-American showed he could take the punches, he could not launch an attack, as Pacquiao?s right jab effectively kept him at bay.
