FEU cager shot twice, fighting for life in Manila hospital

MANILA, Philippines?(UPDATE) A UAAP basketball player is fighting for his life after a lone gunman shot him twice late Thursday night.

Mac Baracael, 23, a junior forward of the Far Eastern University, was shot around 8:40 p.m. by an unknown assailant with a .45 pistol, near Philtrust, at the corner of Morayta and R. Papa streets.

Anton Montinola, FEU's representative to the UAAP board, said Baracael was "fighting for his life" at Mary Chiles hospital.

Baracael was walking with teammates Ron Cabagnot and Robert Kave to buy food after the team's practice when he was shot.
