BEIJING -- American pair Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor beat China's Wang Jie and Tian Jie to win the Olympic Games women's beach volleyball gold medal on Thursday.

The defending champions won 21-18, 21-18 in heavy rain to register their 108th consecutive victory.
