MANILA, Philippines – (UPDATE 2) Paul Gonzalgo took charge in the second half as Adamson wrapped up its campaign with a 68-57 rout of the National University in the UAAP men's basketball competition Thursday at the Araneta Coliseum.
Gonzalgo fired 13 of his 15 points in the third period where the Falcons pulled away with a 20-5 start to take a 51-37 advantage after trailing 31-32 at halftime.
Marc Agustin, who, like Gonzalgo, played his final game in the league, topscored with 18 markers.
"We didn't get our goal; we know people we're expecting a lot during the pre-season," said coach Leo Austria after the Falcons settled with a 3-11 record.
"They said we're the darkhorse and we know a lot of people were frustrated with our performances. We did our best, but we fell short."
Edwin Asoro, a former Mythical Team member, also played his final year for the Bulldogs, who bowed out with a cellar-dwelling 2-12 slate.
Asoro never missed a game in five seasons with the Bulldogs to finish with averages of 13.01 points, 8.9 rebounds and 1.32 steals in 68 games.
