MANILA, Philippines—Ateneo de Manila University added the men's judo championship to its earlier wins in basketball and swimming, while University of the Philippines retained the women's plum in the ongoing 71st UAAP season.

Paulo Hector Luz and Carlo Jason Garcia reigned in the -66 kg division to clinch the title for Ateneo which pooled 37 points.

The Blue Eagles edged rivals De La Salle University Green Archers (32 points) and the University of Santo Tomas Tigers (28 points).

UP's Catherine Joy Lariosa seized the gold in the -57 kg category while Ada Therese Estanislao won the -52 kg class.

"We prepared long and hard the entire year," said UP coach Reylin San Juan, referring to their stints in the National Open and the Philippine Olympic Festival. Romina S. Austria
