MANILA, Philippines--While the entire country is expected to be glued to television sets and theater screens to watch Filipino boxing champion Manny Pacquiao fights Mexican boxing star Oscar Dela Hoya this Sunday, policemen have been advised to wait for the replay of the match.

“Although we anticipate zero crime during the fight, we will not let our guards down, we will continue our public service while the public is enjoying and watching the fight," Chief Superintendent Nicanor Bartolome, PNP spokesman, said.

"The cops who want to see the boxing prowess of two skilled boxers, siguro yung replay na lang ang panoorin nila [maybe they can just watch the replay]," Bartolome said.

There has invariably been a zero-crime rate during Pacquiao's previous matches, with the police surmising that most Filipinos, including criminals, choose to stay at home to watch the fights.

Police have also noted a 30-percent reduction in traffic on days Pacquiao fights, compared to regular Sundays.
