PHOENIX -- Phoenix Suns swingman Jason Richardson was cited last month for drunken driving, the Arizona Republic newspaper reported on Monday.
The newspaper said that Richardson was stopped by a Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community police officer on December 21.
Citing a citation filed at West Mesa Justice Court, the Republic said that Richardson was accused of failure to drive in one lane and speeding on in the pre-dawn hours.
Richardson, 26, was released after he was cited.
It was the second high-profile driving under the influence stop in the greater Phoenix area recently.
NBA legend and former Sun Charles Barkley also was arrested last month in nearby Scottsdale on similar charges.
Richardson, who has averaged 17.6 points and 4.3 rebounds this season, was acquired in a trade with the Charlotte Bobcats last month.
