PARIS - Swiss world number one Roger Federer said Friday he has become a proud father of twin girls after wife Mirka gave birth overnight to Charlene Riva and Myla Rose.

"This is the greatest day of our lives. Mirka, Myla and Charlene are all healthy and doing very well," Federer, who regained the top ranking from Rafael Nadal after winning a record 15th Grand Slam at Wimbledon, said on his website.
