DETROIT ? Ben Wallace, a four-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year, will return to the Detroit Pistons in a one-year deal worth $1.3 million, the Detroit News reported Friday.

The move, expected to be announced next week, will see "Big Ben" return to the club he helped lead to an NBA crown in 2004 while taking NBA top defender honors from 2002 through 2005.

Wallace, 34, spent six seasons with the Pistons before leaving as a free agent in 2006 for the Chicago Bulls.

He was traded to Cleveland in 2008 and played 56 games for the Cavaliers last season, averaging 2.9 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.3 blocked shots.

Wallace has averaged 6.2 points and 10.3 rebounds in 903 NBA games for the Cavaliers, Bulls, Pistons, Orlando and Washington.
