MANILA, Philippines-- Adamson weathered a fourth-quarter rally from Far Eastern U to win, 58-51, in Game One of the UAAP women's basketball championships Saturday at the Arena in San Juan.

Team captain Katherine Sandel topscored with 18 points and this season's Most Valuable Player Analyn Almasan added 14 points along with 16 rebounds for the Lady Falcons, who led at halftime, 28-23 .

The Lady Falcons now own a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three title series.
