James leads Cavs to sixth-consecutive win vs Knicks

NEW YORK – LeBron James scored a game-high 33 points and nine assists to power the Cleveland Cavaliers to their sixth-consecutive victory over the New York Knicks with a 100-91 win on Friday.

James also grabbed eight rebounds for the Cavs who continued their mastery over the Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

New York lost all four games with Cleveland last year, while the Cavaliers have won 10 of the past 13 meetings. The Cavs are also undefeated in their last four trips to the Garden.

Mo Williams added 12 points and Daniel Gibson scored 11 for Cleveland. Anderson Varejao hauled in 14 boards to go with eight points, while Zydrunas Ilgauskas had 11 rebounds and nine points.

The Knicks were led by David Lee with 21 points and six rebounds. Danilo Gallinari chipped in 17 points and former Cavs guard Larry Hughes 18 with five boards and four helpers for New York who dropped to 1-5 on the season. Al Harrington added 14 points and Wilson Chandler 11 with six rebounds.

James scored 19 points in the opening quarter to lead the Cavs to a 40-21 advantage heading into the second. Cleveland widened the margin to 63-40 at the half.
