Wizards lose James for up to five weeks

WASHINGTON-- Washington Wizards guard Mike James will miss up to five weeks of the NBA season with a broken bone in his left hand suffered during practice, the team announced on Monday.

James, a reserve, suffered the injury on Saturday and did not play in Sunday's 102-90 Wizards' loss to Phoenix on Sunday.

He has played only in one game so far this season for Washington, which fell to 2-5 with a fourth consecutive loss.

The Wizards have been nagged by injuries last term, notably to star playmaker Gilbert Arenas, but were expected to bounce back this season under new coach Flip Saunders and with Arenas in good health after two injury-riddled seasons.
