Eagles start Milo bid this weekend

Cebu Daily News

THE ROAD to redemption for the Sacred Heart School-Jesuits (SHS-J) Eagles begins this weekend as they compete in the national finals of the 2009 Milo BEST Twin Tournament in Baguio against the best Passerelle squads in the country led by rivals and defending champions La Salle Greenhills.

The Eagles earned the right to represent Visayas after winning the Visayas Region title last month in Roxas City. They are raring to get back at the Green Archers, which beat them in the championship game last year. The Eagles will also have to face the other regional champions from around the country including Xavier University of Cagayan de Oro and St. John Cathedral of Dagupan.

The Eagles will be led by the imposing frontcourt of Kris Porter and Adrian Muller along with the backcourt of Bradley Bacaltos and Jess Adven Diputado.

?The national finals is a different level where everyone must play his role 100%. The level of competition is really tough and we can?t afford even a second of complacency, both on and off the court.? Rasmo said in his statement to the press.

In the Small Basketeers Philippines (SBP) division, Ateneo de Iloilo (ADI) will represent the Visayas and will face defending national champion Ateneo de Manila, Ateneo de Davao (Mindanao) and Maryhill College of Lucena (Luzon). Cebu champions University of San Carlos South Campus was nipped by ADI in the championship game of the Visayas Regional Finals.
