Despite rumors, agent says no F1 return for Schumi

BERLIN - Rumors of Michael Schumacher's return to Formula One continue but what would be a sensational comeback by the seven-time champion was firmly denied again by his agent on Friday.

Schumacher has been repeatedly linked to the vacant drive alongside Nico Rosberg at Mercedes GP next season ever since the German car giant bought out world champions Brawn GP.

And Bild on Friday indicated that Schumacher, who retired in 2006, was set to meet Mercedes Sport boss Norbert Haug imminently to discuss terms for a return.

But Schumacher's agent, Willi Weber, dismissed the report, telling German news agency SID: "I am going to be meeting Michael soon, as we meet up often throughout the year, and there will be no question of Norbert Haug or Mercedes."

"It is clear there will always be speculation in this sport, particularly whenever cockpits are not yet occupied," Haug said last month.

"And some speculations are just dreams which will not come true."

If it were ever to materialize the move would reunite Schumacher with Ross Brawn, the team principal of Mercedes (formerly Brawn GP), who masterminded all of the Germans seven world titles at Benetton and Ferrari.
