MANILA, Philippines--Multititled Cresenciano Sabal and Mercedita Manipol-Fetalvero headline the list of runners seeing action in the Condura Run for the Dolphins 2010, which has been expanded into a full 42k event on Feb. 7 starting and ending at The Fort in Taguig City.
Sabal, a three time winner of the Milo Marathon, and Fetalvero, whose lone 42k victory came in the Milo race in 2008, are among the 4,000 runners who have signed up for the event.
Laos SEA Games marathon winner Eduardo Buenavista topped the 2009 21K over Alley Quisay and Sabal.
Organizers who graced the PSA Forum, sponsored Accel, Pagcor, Shakey?s and Outlast Battery, at Shakey?s UN Avenue yesterday are expecting the number of entries to swell to 8,000.
?Running is our passion and our mission is to get the whole Philippines as passionate about running as we are,? said Condura Run founder and Condura president and COO Ton Concepcion.
The run will benefit projects aimed at protecting the dolphins in Bohol.
Runners from Malaysia, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Singapore have been invited to the race, said race director Rudy Biscocho.
The top three placers in the 42K race will win P60,000, P40,000 and P20,000, respectively.
Registration is ongoing at Runnr in Bonifacio High Street and Planet Sports at Trinoma and Alabang Town Center until Jan. 24.
