MANILA, Philippines ? (UPDATE 3) San Sebastian College hacked out a 72-59 victory over Jose Rizal University Friday in the 86th NCAA men's basketball tournament.

Dynamic forward Calvin Abueva collected 16 markers, 15 board and four steals for the Stags, who have yet to lose in five outings.

The Bombers, who dropped to 4-2, struggled mightily on their usually potent offense as they were left befuddled all-game long by the stifling defense of their foes.

In the first game, Mapua University rolled to its third victory as it subdued Colegio De San Juan De Letran, 66-51.

Mark Acosta sizzled with 20 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the outside as the Cardinals kept the struggling Knights at bay since the start of the second half.

Mapua upped its record to 3-2 while Letran dropped to 1-4.
