THE playoff round of the 2nd BTC Cup will start today at 8AM capped by the All-Star Games by late afternoon at the Banilad Town Centre (BTC).
The top seeds at 16-under: PAREF Springdale School and University of Southern Philippines (USP) Foundation will only have to win a game in the quarter finals to earn a ticket to the best-of-3 semifinals.
The same is true at 14-under for top seeds Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu and again USPF who both enjoy twice-to-beat advantages.
The 12-under and 10-under top seeds will proceed with the semi-final round that also follows a twice-to-beat format with Springdale teams holding the advantage.
Fourth seed Academ Institute will challenge Springdale in bracket A at 16-under, while SIPS Team 3 will face USP-F twice in bracket B.
Third seed SIPS Team 1 will meet 2nd seed Cebu Cherish School (CCS) in bracket A at 16-under, while Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) will do the same in bracket B against SIPS Team 2.
At 14-under, bracket A 4th seed SIPS will battle SHS-Ateneo 1 twice, as SHS-Ateneo 2 attempts the same against USP-F in bracket B while bracket A 3rd seed St. Alphonsus Catholic School (SACS) meet 2nd seed Springdale. DBTC faces CCS.
At 12-under, 4th seed Southwestern University (SWU) tangle with Springdale while 3rd seed Sotero B. Cabahug (SBC) Forum for Literacy clash with 2nd seed SIPS.
In the 10-under card, the winner in the unplayed but crucial elimination game between Springdale 2 and SHS-Ateneo 2 needs to beat top seed Springdale 1 twice. Third 3rd seed CCS will try to do the same do against 2nd seed SHS-Ateneo 1 team.
Highlight of the day will be the All-Stars games as well as a special 3-point shootout sponsored by Cherifer "Tangkad Sagad" growth vitamins.
