THE MEN and women spikers of the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) gun for a sweep of the titles in the 2007-2008 Cesafi beach volleyball tournament today at the Inayagan Beach Resort.

The belles of USJ-R, which is composed of former RP youth team members Genie Sabas and Michelle Simbajon will be aiming to complete their undefeated run to the title when they face the winless University of Cebu (UC).

They virtually bagged the title after last week’s competition by chalking up four wins against no losses.

The team with the most number of wins at the end of the competition will be declared as the champion.

In other games in the women’s class, the Southwestern University (SWU) Cobras will be looking to cement their second place finish when they battle Cebu Doctor’s University (CDU).

In the men’s division, USJ-R’s pair of Ariel Carumba and Louijie Tipgos will have their eyes focused on the crown as they also look to finish the competition with an unblemished slate.

Their 3-0 (win-loss) mark will be put on the line when they tangle with James Rivera and Edward Ybanez of the University of Southern Philippines Foundation. Correspondent Jonas Panerio
