The multi-titled Dancesport-Team Cebu City (DTCC) will once again get the chance to pay their graces forward when they trek to the different urban barangays (villages) of Cebu on Monday to start the annual free Barangay-Based Summer Dancesport Workshop 2008.

Forty of DTCC’s dance instructors will be spread throughout the different barangays of urban Cebu, namely, Tejero, Mabolo, Banilad, Camputhaw, Pahina Central, Labangon, Punta, Mambaling, Suba, Guadalupe, Basak San Nicolas, Poblacion, Pardo, Sambag 2, Cogon Ramos and San Roque, to teach kids aged six years old and above the basics of Latin and Standard dances.

The benchmark program is being headed by dancesport directress Ricca Alix and it aims to continue what has been taught in the Barangay-Based Summer Dancesport Workshops.

There will also be workshops in the different mountain barangays. This will commence on April 3 at Sudlon 2, Babag, Busay, Talamban, Guba, Pit-os and Paril.

The summer workshop is a joint project of Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña and the government of Cebu, Liga ng mga Barangay Kagawad ng Pilipinas headed by Cebu chapter president Manuel Guanzon and the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation under Councilor Rengele Pelayo.
