6:50 p.m.- Talk N Text vs. Magnolia

The roaring Coca-Cola Tigers try to tighten their hold of the top spot when they play the Air21 Express today in the 33rd PBA Fiesta Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.

Coke is one of the two remaining unbeaten teams in the conference, occupying the number one spot with a 3-0 (win-loss) card together with the Sta. Lucia Realtors, who won against Ginebra, 101-97, last night at the Tacloban Convention Center.

The Tigers are fresh off a nail-biting 98-96 win over the Welcoat Dragons, clawing back from an 18-point hole to escape with the victory.

Import Jason Dixon and Cesar Catli starred in that win by the Tigers after coming alive in the endgame.

NEW IMPORT

The Tigers, meanwhile, has tapped a replacement for their other import Calvin Cage, who will be out for two months with a fractured right ankle.

George Gervin Jr., the son of NBA great George “Iceman” Gervin, will finally see action today after the Tigers decided to rest him in their game against the Dragons.

The Express, on the other hand, started their campaign with a win over the Dragons but stumbled in their next two outings to drop to 1-2.

The Magnolia Beverage Masters and the Talk N Text Phone Pals try to sustain their fiery form when they face each other in the main game.

Last Wednesday, the Pals scored an impressive 103-92 win over the erstwhile unbeaten Red Bull Barakos, while the Beverage Masters finally barged into the win column by beating the Alaska Aces, 89-81. Correspondent Calvin D. Cordova
