THE HIGHLY touted Danika Gendrauli immediately made an impact in the Cesafi volleyball wars, leading the Southwestern University (SWU) to a 25-16, 25-14, 25-8 victory over the University of Cebu (UC) yesterday at the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) gym.
The SWU victory highlighted the opening of the Cesafi tournament, which was delayed for a week.
Adding to yesterday?s action was the surprise win of the USPF lady spikers, who upset the University of San Carlos (USC), 27-25,25-17, 25-13.
But the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) made sure no upsets would happen in its initial game as it pinned down the University of the Visayas (UV), 25-11, 25-14, 25-16.
In the men?s open, back-to-back champion USC beat Cebu Doctors? University (CDU), 25-19, 25-7,25-16.
