Games Today:
(San Juan gym)
2 p.m. ? Licealiz vs Magnolia
4 p.m. ? Oracle Residences vs Cobra
MAGNOLIA Purewater and the Oracle Residences gun for their second straight victories when they battle separate opponents in the second playdate of the 2009 PBL PG Flex Unity Cup, today at the San Juan Gym in San Juan City.
The Wizards of Magnolia will once again be riding the shoulders of star wingman Dylan Ababou when they face the Licealiz Hair Doctors in the opening game while Oracle Residences will try to continue the winning tradition of sister team Harbour Centre, when it goes up against the Cobra Energy Drink at 4 pm.
Ababou, the 6-foot-4 star from the University of Sto. Tomas, had 20 points in their 82-75 win over the Pharex Bidang Generix. The Oracle Titans on the other hand, wasted no time in making their way into the win column by blasting the star-studded Licealiz, 73-64.
Spitfire guard Mark Barroca was the star of that show as he bested his more popular counterparts, Chris Tiu and JV Casio, by posting 17 points, seven rebounds and two assists. Tiu and Casio had a miserable outing as they combined for just eight points. Also expected to deliver anew for Oracle are veterans Rico Maierhofer, Edwin Asoro and new recruit Chris Timberblake. The trio had double figures for the Titans. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
