SAN SEBASTIAN HOPES TO KEEP ITS slate clean and join Jose Rizal U on top today when the Stags go up against the Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals in the 85th NCAA men’s basketball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

The Stags are picked to secure their fourth straight victory against the Generals in their 2 p.m. encounter that will serve as appetizer for the 4 p.m. showdown between defending champion San Beda and Perpetual Help.

San Sebastian will be playing its first game in eight days. The Stags scored a 75-62 triumph over St. Benilde in their last assignment.
“We hope to come out strong, we had more than a week of rest,” said San Sebastian coach Ato Agustin, whose squad’s biggest win so far was an 83-77 upset of San Beda two weeks ago.

The Lions are also favored to jack up their record to 4-1 against the Altas, who snapped a three-game slide with a 94-84 dumping of Angeles University Foundation Wednesday.

San Beda coach Frankie Lim expects a strong start from the Lions, who are riding high on an 86-66 blasting of St. Benilde.
