LETRAN CAME from behind to stun St. Benilde and capture the men?s chess crown for the first time in five years while San Sebastian topped the juniors? division at SM Manila recently.

Tournament MVP Chester Guerrero and Jesus Lising trounced Jimson Bitoon and Andrew Delfin on boards one and two, respectively, allowing the Knights to come back from 0-2 down to forge a 2-all tie.

Guerrero provided the crucial victory since the board one rule is applied to break ties.

Letran, however, lost its juniors title to San Sebastian, after Arvie Jongko downed Woman National Master Cherry Ann Mejia on board two and sealed the Staglets? 3-1 win.

Kristian Paolo and John Mark Dimalawat delivered the Staglets? other two points.
