FAR Eastern U tries to continue its menacing form when it tackles St. Benilde today for a quarterfinal berth in the Shakey?s V-League Season 6 second conference at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

The Lady Tamaraws eye their fourth straight victory in the 2 p.m. showdown with the Lady Blazers, who are coming off an impressive victory over Lyceum last Sunday.

Clashing in the second game at 4 p.m. are Ateneo-Oracare and Lyceum.

The Lady Eagles are aiming to end a two-game slide against the Lady Pirates, who are still winless in three games.

Showing its title credentials, FEU stopped defending champion San Sebastian in five sets Sunday.

Cherry Vivas and Shaira Gonzales sparkled for the Lady Tamaraws, who have racked up victories over Adamson, Ateneo-Oracare and Lyceum, after bowing to University of Santo Tomas two weeks ago.

Flashing an improved game, the 5-foot-10 Vivas, filling the void left by Maica Morada, produced a spectacular effort with 23 points in the come-from-behind victory.

Gonzales, meanwhile, has steadily provided the Lady Tamaraws with another deadly option on the attack.

The Lady Blazers easily disposed of the Lady Pirates Sunday, giving coach Thelma Barina-Rojas reason to believe that they have moved on from their NCAA finals loss to San Sebastian.
