Unigames: Eagles remain hot

MANILA, Philippines—Just weeks after completing a UAAP back-to-back title romp, the Ateneo Blue Eagles continued to flex their championship muscle by streaking to their third straight win in the 14th UniGames basketball tournament in Iloilo City.

The Blue Eagles, also seeking a tournament title repeat, grabbed the early lead at 3-0 after rolling past Ateneo de Davao, 83-59; Iloilo Doctors College, 88-66; and Holy Angel College, 122-49.

Far Eastern University similarly remained unbeaten in three outings, but struggled past St. Francis of Assisi College (75-69), before crushing Silliman University (122-49) and University of San Agustin-Iloilo (135-66).

In women’s action, UAAP champion Adamson University grabbed the solo lead after emphatic wins over University of San Agustin, 83-31; University of Manila, 84-57; and Dela Salle-Lipa, 103-43. Jasmine W. Payo
