Coming off morale-boosting victories, College of St. Benilde and Adamson University try to buck the odds anew against tough rivals in Friday?s resumption of the quarterfinals at the FilOil-Flying V Arena in San Juan City.

The Lady Blazers seek to stay in the hunt for a semifinal berth against the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws at 2 p.m., while the Lady Falcons gun for their third straight victory against the league-leading University of Santo Tomas Tigresses at 6.

St. Benilde is seeking follow-up to its stunning win over Ateneo-Oracare last Tuesday that threw open the race for semifinal berths.

The Lady Blazers are seeking a fourth victory in nine games against the Lady Tamaraws, who are out to end a two-game slide.

With improved performances from Angela Benting, Pau Soriano and Jill Gustilo, the Lady Falcons opened the quarterfinals with back-to-back wins, including a tough five-set victory over FEU last Tuesday.

Clashing at 4 p.m. are San Sebastian and an Ateneo squad still smarting from the absence of guest player Charo Soriano.

The Lady Stags are favored following their conquest of the erstwhile unbeaten Tigresses Tuesday.

The Lady Stags? 25-23, 23-25, 26-24, 25-22 victory halted the Tigresses? seven-game run in the tournament backed by Accel, Mikasa, Mighty Bond and Oracare.
