UST, St. Scho capture FBL 3-on-3 titles

UNIVERSITY of SANTO TOMAS CAPTURED the boys championship, while St. Scholastica?s College bagged the girls crown in the Futures Basketball League-Samsung 3-on-3 tournament recently at the San Beda College-Alabang covered courts.

The Tiger Cubs downed Golden Sunbeam, 11-7, in the championship round after disposing of another UST entry in the semifinals, 6-3.

St. Scholastica tripped St. Theresa?s College, 6-5, in a shootout after finishing tied in regulation.

Don Bosco Technical Institute also triumphed over San Beda College-Alabang, 7-4, to claim the midgets title.

Colegio de San Agustin (CSA) 1 ruled the mini division crown after nipping sister team CSA 2 at 4-3 in the finals.

Golden Sunbeam, not ranked as among the pre-tournament favorites, advanced to the championship round after thwarting another UST squad, 6-3, while St. Scholastica and St. Theresa also knocked out their sister teams in the Final Four.

Don Bosco overwhelmed San Sebastian College with an 11-0 blanking, while San Beda Alabang eked out a 3-2 victory over a fighting Colegio de San Agustin crew in the semifinals. Jasmine W. Payo
