UNIVERSITY OF SANTO TOMAS put Far Eastern University in a precarious position while sealing the top ranking in the semifinals with a 25-21, 16-25, 25-19, 25-22 victory over the Lady Tamaraws Tuesday night in the Shakey?s V League Season 6 second conference at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

The Tigresses won for the 10th time in 11 games while sending the Lady Tamaraws crashing to 7-5 and in danger of missing a semifinal slot.

If Adamson and Ateneo prevail tomorrow over St. Benilde and UST, respectively, they will tie FEU, which posted only one win in the quarterfinals after opening the league with a 6-1 record.

In case of a triple-tie for third, the FIVB rules will be applied with the team with the highest tiebreak score clinching the third spot. The other two clash for the last berth in a one-game playoff.

While FEU?s campaign remained hanging in the balance, there was little doubt about the Tigresses? title hopes.

They shrugged off a second set collapse by taking the next two with another sublime performance.

UST looked in trouble when it trailed 12-14 in the fourth set. But they won 10 of the next 13 rallies to go up 21-17, before back-to-back attacks by Angeli Tabaquero sealed the win.
