MANILA, Philippines?About 30 high school and collegiate cheerleading teams in Metro Manila will vie in the National Cheerleading Championship NCR qualifying event that will be hosted by Central Colleges of the Philippines starting Saturday.
At stake in the qualifier are slots to the NCC finals on March 6 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City, where 14 provincial teams are also vying.
The host school boasts one of the top cheerleading teams in the country in the Bobcats, who won back-to-back NCC championships from 2007. The Bobcats also bagged the title in the 2009 World Cup Cheer and Dance Asia-Pacific Championships in Brisbane, Australia, last September.
They will represent the country in the Cheerleading World Finals in Orlando, Florida, from April 19 to 23.
