POWERHOUSE RIZAL TECHNOLOGICAL University dumped cellar-dweller LBC Hari ng Padala, 7-0, last Sunday to complete an eight-game sweep of its elimination round assignments in the Softball Pilipinas league at the Rosario Sports Complex in Pasig City.

By finishing No. 1, the RTU Blue Thunder will enjoy a twice-to-beat bonus against No. 4 Forward Taguig in their semifinal meeting on Sunday.

Third-ranked Phiten-Air Force meets No. 2 Globe Asiatique Realtors in the other semifinal pairing with the Realtors also enjoying a twice-to-beat edge.

Last Sunday?s games saw Air Force split its last two games, beating LBC, 7-0, in its first game but bowing to Taguig, 5-7, in the second. Air Force ended up with a 4-win 4-loss slate like Taguig and the GA Realtors, but lost on the runs-against tiebreaker.

The GA Realtors nipped Taguig, 2-1, and edged Phiten and Taguig with a plus 5 in the tiebreaker. Phiten had minus-1 while Taguig was at minus-4 in the tournament presented by Cebuana Lhuillier and sponsored by LBC. Roy Luarca
