MANILA, Philippines? As the season?s hottest varsity team, San Sebastian College tries to sustain its unbeaten form in the FilOil-Flying V Tanduay First Five Pre-Season Invitational Cup Wednesday.

The Stags shoot for a third straight triumph against the debuting Under-18 RP Youth Team at 1 p.m. at the FilOil-Flying V Arena in San Juan City.

Ateneo de Manila University, aiming to rebound from its first loss to fierce rival De La Salle University, takes on University of Perpetual Help at 3 p.m., while University of the East and Mapua Institute of Technology wrap up seniors action at 5 p.m.

Calvin Abueva continued to sizzle for the NCAA champ Stags, drilling 25 points in their 80-74 win over the UE Warriors over a week ago.

?We?re emphasizing on team effort,? said San Sebastian coach Ato Agustin.

Second-generation players Gwynne Capacio, Ael Banal, Kiefer Ravena and Jeron Teng banner the U-18 RP Youth Team mentored by Eric Altamirano.

In junior play, La Salle Green Hills and University of Santo Tomas tangle at 11 a.m., right after the 9 a.m. duel between Adamson University and coach Mark Herrera?s U-13 RP Youth Team.

The Blue Eagles vie for their third win in four outings, just four days after bowing to the rookie-laden Archers, 77-74, in front of the tournament?s biggest crowd yet of about 4,000.

Ryan Buenafe paced the Eagles with 14 points, but wound up scoreless in the second half, where the Archers rallied in the last seven minutes.

The Warriors, meanwhile, are coming off a thrilling 78-72 victory over defending champion Far Eastern University.
