TEAM ZOUAVE SWEPT ALL BUT one of the categories at stake in the first Saranggani Jet Ski Invitational Race 2008 recently at the beach front of White Haven resort.

Robbie David and TJ Botones led the assault of Team Zouave by finishing 1-2 in the Open Class of the three-day festival, participated in by 40 local and international jet ski riders.

Team Zouave’s Butch Casido ruled the Four-Stroke class, with David closely behind. Casido made it a double-kill when he also topped the Stand Up Class with teammate Noel Santiago finishing at second place.

In the Two-Stroke category, team Zouave’s Romac Macapinlac Jr. blasted the opposition, with Pagadian’s Ferdinand Pulmones finishing runner-up in the 7-lap race.

The event was highlighted by the launching of the use of liquefied petroleum gas in Saranggani’s fishing boats to ease the burden of fuel costs by up to 60 percent.

Supervised by Austrian race director Fil Schwuler, the event was backed by Petron, Solid Shipping Lines, San Miguel, Ferrotech, Smart, Romac & Romina Construction, Heritage Resources, Richtech, Camelot Hotel, Shell-Jenro Gensan, White Haven Resort and Brod Louie Resort & Spa.
