PUERTO PRINCESA--The 10-ball field has lost some of its biggest names in the Mayor's Cup 10-ball tournament, the second leg of the Philippine Pool Tour, Saturday.

Nineteen-year-old Boots Augusto highlighted the slew of upsets by knocking off former World Pool champion Thorsten Hohmann, 9-7.

Late Friday night, Mario Tolentino engineered the fall of another giant after eking out a 9-8 victory over Guinness 9-Ball champion Chang Jung-Lin of Taiwan.

Junbert Ogang pulled thew rug from under Sormer SEA Games gold medalist Leonardo Andam, 9-8, while unheralded Romeo Silvano defeated national juniors second placer Jordan Legaspi.

Power-breaking Jeffrey de Luna advanced to the next round by defeating Leonardo Didal, 9-4; Arturo Palma nipped Raymond Faraon, 9-8; Allan Soliman blanked Rocky Tullao, 9-0 and Marlon Manalo outlasted Kenji Taguchi, 9-8.

Augusto shattered a 7-7 standoff on the way to the victory over Hohmann.

Tolentino, meanwhile, bounced back from a 0-2 deficit to advance in this $30,000 tournament.

Tolentino was ahead, 8-5, when Change made a late charge by racking up three straight games that knotted the count. Chang, however, blue his chances with a missed No. 10 in the 17th frame.
