MANILA, Philippines – Women’s International Boxing (Wiba) Intercontinental champion Gretchen Abaniel will defend her crown against the tough Tukta Sor. Ratana of Thailand in the top main event of the “Hamon sa Prinsesa” boxing card tonight in Puerto Princesa City.

The other main fight will feature the defense of Philippine’s welterweight Champion Arnel Tinampay against top contender Yuri Noda.

The bouts will be held at the Puerto Princesa Coliseum starting 6 p.m.

Hometown bet Abaniel is expected to draw support from a 10,000-strong crowd made up of her provincemates in the event presented by Mayor Edward S. Hagedorn, Vice Mayor Lucilo Bayron and the City Council of Puerto Prinsesa in coordination with Johnny Elorde Management International, Pagcor and the Department of Tourism.

Another highly anticipated fight is the bout between the grandson of the great Gabriel “Flash” Elorde, Juan Martin “Bai” Elorde against Romnick Dejano.

Hagedorn said the fight would be open to the public in keeping with his city’s image as a sports tourism hotspot.
