Anton scores back-to-back victories

Philippine Daily Inquirer

BULACAN—Multi-titled race car champ Carlos Anton stretched his lead following his back-to-back triumph aboard the Mark Young-Yokohama prepared CRX in the Philippine Autocross Championship recently here.

“This race was very hard to win because I was so tired coming from two races of the Hillclimb series held the day before in La Union but luckily we were able to still snatch the win.” Anton said.

David Lim of Cebu came in second overall while veteran racer Mato Tan of Manila rounded up the top three that saw over fifty racers from all over the country.

“David (Lim) and Mato (Tan) gave me a real run for the money in this race, there was nothing in it between us. All our cars were prepared well and it was exciting for the spectators to watch head-to-head racing on identical tracks,” Anton further related.

Along with the best time of the day award, Anton also won five other divisions onboard his monster CRX that was prepared masterfully by team owner Mark Young.

“With two more races to go in the series, it’s still anybody’s ballgame,” said Anton’s team owner Mark Young.
