FRANKIE Minoza pulled off a come-from-behind victory Friday in the ICTSI Pueblo de Oro Championship after scoring a two-under-par 70 to beat Richard Sinfuego by a stroke at the Pueblo de Oro Golf and Country Club in Cagayan de Oro City.

The 49-year-old Minoza birdied three of the last five holes and two of the last three to escape with the victory, his first in local soil since winning the Philippine Open at Wack Wack two years ago.

Minoza finished at 209 after earlier rounds of 70 and 69, denying the bid of Sinfuego who led by one after 12 holes but failed to match Minoza’s pace down the stretch.

Minoza won the top prize of P200,000 out of the P1 million total purse.

Sinfuego had nines of 35-34 in a round of 69 for another impressive finish after placing third in the ICTSI Mt. Malarayat Championship.

Artemio Murakami placed third while Elmer Salvador, the second round leader, and Danny Zarate tied for fourth.

The next leg will be played at Sherwood Hills two weeks from now.
