Riviera hosts WGAP fourth leg

ALABANG PRIMES ITSELF UP FOR ANOTH-er title drive in the Women’s Golf Association of the Phils. (WGAP)with a third victory in the premier class when the circuit resumes on July 13 and 14 at the Riviera Golf and Country Club in Silang, Cavite.

The Alabang golfers, led by Verni Oledan and Joan Morales, have dominated the Class A field with two wins in three legs, including a seven-point romp over Tagaytay Highlands in the Villamor leg last month.

As in the Villamor stop, the organizing WGAP said the fourth leg in Riviera will be held for two days due to the big number of participants.

Aside from Tagaytay, Forest Hills, Sta. Elena and defending overall champion Canlubang are also expected to go all out in stopping Alabang.
Other competing teams are Wack Wack, Valley Golf, Manila Golf, Riviera, Manila Southwoods, Orchard, Phil. Navy and Aguinaldo.

The competition in Classes A, B and C calls for a maximum of 10 players for each squad with the best four scores under the Modified Stableford system counting.

The Muntinlupa-based squad topped two of the three classes in the kickoff leg at home then scored a pair of runner-up finishes in the second leg at Forest Hills.
