Pacman vows to help athletes

Philippine Daily Inquirer

BOXING SUPERSTAR MANNY PACQUIAO has appealed for more support for the national athletes seeing action in the Southeast Asian Games next month.

At the sendoff dinner hosted by the Puwersa ng Bayaning Atleta (PBA) party list for the athletes last Friday, Pacquiao said it was time all sectors of society come together to help the sports flag bearers.

?I am deeply bothered that more Filipino athletes have not achieved what I have,? Pacquiao, a founding member of the party-list group, said during the event held at the Century Park Hotel.

?I believe that the PBA can make a difference. Our athletes will fight for us and they are assured of our help.?

The Commission on Elections-recognized party-list group aims to protect the welfare of Filipino athletes.
