TWO-TIME SBP defending champion Ateneo de Manila University and Passerelle defending champion La Salle Green Hills start their campaign on a high note in the Milo-sponsored Best Center SBP-Passerelle finals at the Easter College Gym in Baguio City Saturday.
Ateneo de Manila routed Ateneo de Davao, 94-52, in the SBP division while La Salle Green Hills dumped Xavier School, 102-79, in the Passerelle division.
Ateneo de Iloilo beat Maryhill College, 68-36, in another SBP encounter.
Other Passerelle results saw Sacred Heart School Jesuit Cebu whipped St. John Cathedral School of Dagupan, 100-44, and Xavier School beat Sacred Heart School Jesuit Cebu, 102-98.
The tournament?s opening was graced by Baguio City Mayor Peter Rey Bautista, Nestle AVP and Milo sports events executive Pat Goc-ong and Best Center founder Nic Jorge.
?My heart goes to Milo for consistently involving children in sports, teaching them values like compassion and sportsmanship and Baguio welcomes events that advocate these ideals,? said Bautista.
The event is held in line with the commitment of Milo to promote sports at the grassroots level and help build champions in life.
Bracketed with Ateneo de Manila are Maryhill College of Lucena (Luzon), Ateneo de Iloilo (Visayas) and Ateneo de Davao (Mindanao).
Lumped with La Salle Green Hills are St. John Cathedral School of Dagupan (Luzon), Sacred Heart Jesuit-Cebu (Visayas) and Xavier School Cagayan de Oro (Mindanao).
